In April 2000, AMIC purchased the SkidCar and its training system. The SkidCar requires a trained instuctor to ride inside the vehicle with participants taking the Proactive Driver Training 
course. The instructor coaches each participant on various driving techniques throughout the session.
The Skidcar System allows the driver to initiate a skid at very low speeds by incorrect steering and braking. The instructor sits inside the training vehicle with the driver and controls the 20 different traction settings, which duplicate a full range of hazardous driving conditions. A built-in memory allows custom programming of any desired traction setting.
